Biography
Sir John has a law degree and an MBA from the London Business School. He gained his CFA qualification in 2017. Prior to joining JM Finn in January 2011, Sir John was a merchant adventurer which took him to Sweden, Dubai, Indonesia and India where he was involved with derivatives broking, property and estate agencies as well as general corporate finance related consulting. Sir John specialised in shareholder activism for a number of years and at one stage owned a company that did specialist sound, flash and exhaust fume moderation for sniper rifles. In 1993 Sir John swum the Channel and in 2022 he became the ninth person to swim the full 70 km length of Lake Geneva. He enjoys backgammon, bridge and the fine gastronomic delights of Boodles. Sir John has three daughters and lives in West London with his two Patterdale terriers and his girlfriend.
