Biography
After graduating from the University of London Mark Powell had a short career as an officer in the Royal Tank Regiment. Mark began his portfolio management career with Kleinwort Benson in the late '90s, leaving them to join JM Finn in 2004. Mark is Head of London, an Investment Director and Head of Charities, working closely with Sam Barty-King, and assisted by Alison Finney. A Fellow of the Securities Institute, Mark is a former Chair of Governors of a junior school in Surrey and director of an Academy Trust, and is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Masons and the Worshipful Company of Bowyers. Mark is also a trustee of a military charity. Mark is married with three children and lives in Surrey, while Mark's leisure activities include cycling, wine and wild camping. Mark won the COLWMA ‘Fund Manager of the Year’ award in 2021, although Mark is particularly proud the charity team has won the COLWMA ‘Best Charity Investment Service’ in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
