Ziggy, who is due to graduate from the RA Schools in 2015, is a painter. Aged 31, he studied at Camberwell College of Art and is currently mid-way through the course at the Royal Academy Schools. A contemporary school of fine art that offers 17 places each year, the RA Schools is committed to providing an open, informed and critical environment for the personal and professional development of artists. It was founded in 1769 and remains independent to this day offering a programme that responds to the specific needs of each student. Discussion and debate are stimulated through a variety of lectures, artist talks, group critiques and tutorials given by leading contemporary artists, Royal Academicians, critics, writers and theorists.
Ziggy was chosen by JM Finn & Co to be the recipient of the bursary following a selection process under the stewardship of Eliza Bonham Carter, Curator and Head of Schools at the Royal Academy. Eliza commented: “Ziggy is a thoroughly committed painter who is prolific and supremely imaginative. He is a key member on the course, full of insight into his own and other people’s work.”
Ziggy’s work has featured in two exhibitions that JM Finn & Co held in conjunction with the Royal Academy at their London offices and at Culford School, in East Anglia. For further information on Ziggy Grudzinskas, please visit: http://www.ziggygrudzinskas.com
