The audience is privileged to enjoy the performances at exquisite locations such as Castle Howard, Hovingham Hall, Duncombe Park and Sledmere, as well as in Ampleforth Abbey, Helmsley Arts Centre and the many beautiful country churches of Ryedale.
This year, Ryedale festival is delighted to welcome Steven Isserlis, a British cellist who is known worldwide for his outstanding technique and musicianship, which will be recorded by BBC Radio 3 for future broadcast in their Lunchtime Concert Series.
The festival will open with a concert led by Em Whitfield Brooks, with around 150 children and amateur musicians from all over Ryedale joining forces with professional solois ts and students from Chetham’s School, to perform Britten’s famous work telling the Biblical story of Noah and his ark.
