On 6th September, the Snickleways Bangers (nine dads in their forties) will set off from Paris by bicycle, aiming to arrive in Geneva four days later. They have been training hard and a relief map of the route suggests there may be some pain in store as they aim to cover an average of 88 miles a day, with an average climb of 5,850 feet.
All the riders are relishing the challenge and each will have to push himself beyond the comparatively gentle training rides in the hills and dales of Yorkshire.
JM Finn is delighted to be supporting the team’s efforts as they look to raise funds for MIND, the foremost mental health charity in the UK, chosen following a devastating shock to one of the team when earlier this year a family member took their own life, aged just 22.
The team are supporting MIND in the hope that they can help remove the stigma associated with mental health difficulties and to help other young men and women vulnerable to negative thoughts, fears and low self-esteem. The cost of the trip is funded entirely by the team so every penny raised will go straight to MIND and their invaluable works. For further information, please visit:
